How to Connect Your Discord Account to Medal

Modified on Fri, 10 Oct at 12:48 AM - By Steven Macchia

Gaming communities on the internet are interconnected now, so what better way to share your clips with your friends than through Discord? It's incredibly easy to connect your Discord account to Medal to publish clips to your own server, or your friends servers.

Connecting Discord

Navigate to your Medal settings by clicking on the cogwheel in the lower left corner of the Medal application and click on the Connected Accounts tab.

Once in the Connections tab of your settings, select Discord.

A new browser window or screen will appear in Discord or on your browser that looks like the image to the side.

Clicking on Authorize will authorize Medal to post clips from your account through the Medal app.

If everything has been done correctly, and the account has been authorized, you should receive verification of the process with the following message!

Once you've connected your Discord account to Medal, if you navigate back to your account settings you'll see the social connection for Discord set up. From this menu, you can find togglable options for displaying your account on your profile.

If you have and error page that says "The authorized account is already connected to a different Medal account" please check our Article about Social account already connected to a different Medal account and see if that helps!

Discord Rich Presence

Want to promote and let people know on Discord what you are up to when using Medal? Discord Rich Presence allows you to promote your Medal profile when you start playing games!

First, head over to Medal Settings > Privacy & Security > Privacy & Visibility and turn on Promote my Medal profile using Rich Presence

Next, you would want to make sure Medal is detected in your Discord Activity section. To do that, head over to Discord Settings > Activity Privacy and toggle on Share my Activity.

Then, head over to Registered Games and hit the blue "Add it!" button. Find Medal from the dropdown and add it onto the list of added games. (Note: You may need to have a game opened in the background in order for Discord to pickup Medal)

Discord should now automatically pick up Medal whenever you are in a game. You can double check this by checking your profile on the bottom left of Discord or in a members list from a discord server that you are in.
