How to Collect Event Viewer Logs on Windows

In some rare cases, the Medal team may need some information from the Windows Event Viewer to determine what has happened, such as Medal causing your game to crash. The Event Viewer logs contain detailed information about significant events on your computer, which can help in troubleshooting issues.

Here’s a detailed guide on how you can collect that data:

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Opening Event Viewer

  • Step 1: Open the Start Menu by clicking the Start button or pressing the Windows key on your keyboard.
  • Step 2: Type Event Viewer into the search bar.
  • Step 3: Click on the Event Viewer app from the search results to open it.

Finding and Saving Error Logs

  • Step 1: In the Application logs, look for events labeled as Error or Warning. These events are highlighted with a red or yellow icon respectively.
  • Step 2: Click on an event to view more details about it in the lower panel.
  • Step 3: In the details pane, check the information provided to see if the event mentions Medal or the name of your game. This information is typically found in the General tab and includes a description of the event and any related files or processes.
  • Example: You might see an entry like "Application Error - Medal.exe".
