Recording clips using Medal

Step 1: Set up the Recorder

You can change the recorder's quality and clip length by going to your Settings > Video > Recorder settings. You can also change the opacity and size of your recorder button that will appear over your game. In this window.

Step 2: Launcher

On Medal main screen you will see an icon that displays a launcher. This option will provide you with a list of games that is currently supported using Medal. Select the game you will like to record and it will begin the process to record.

Step 3: Ready To Record

You can also launch your game outside of the application. Medal will detect the game automatically and record it. You will know when Medal is recording your game when you open your notification drawer and it will appear as Ready to Record.

Giving Permissions to Medal as you Launch your Game. 

Make sure that Medal has all the permissions needed to enable the recorder on Medal to work smoothly.

The recorder app has a built-in guide that allows you to go through enabling all the needed permissions for recording.

In-Game Icon / Overlay

When you Launch your game you will see the Medal icon overlay which will allow you to click on the icon and record your gameplay. If you are unable to see the Medal overlay or it disappeared check out this article for more steps: Medal Overlay is not working

Mobile Overlay Options

Pressing and holding the Medal Icon/ Button will give you more options to hide the icon, mute your audio input, or remove the bottom. You can always retrieve the Medal record button by clicking the eye icon in the notification drawer/Ready to Record.

Why can't I see the Medal button over my game?

We had instances where the button does not appear over the games. Please check this article for more information on how to make it reappear Medal Overlay is not working.  You will need to double-check and grant all the permissions needed to start recording using Medal.

Where to find your Mobile recordings? 

Step 1: Library

When you finish recording, your clips will land on the library tab via Medal.

Step 2: Preview the clips

You can preview the clip by clicking on the clip via the library.

Step 3: Edit your Clip

You can remove the sound or trim the Clip by tapping one of the buttons on the bottom right. Tapping Next will apply changes and send you to the next step.

Step 4: Caption, tags, Publish!

Click on the > icon shown in the screenshot below and it will open the menu to caption, tag, and upload your clips to Medals Cloud.
