When the Medal app fails to save app data to disk, it could be one of a few things. You can try each step out one by one and see if any of them solve your issue.

Medal running more than once

Sometimes Medal can be running more than once on your computer, which can happen if you have multiple people using the same machine on different Windows users.

For Multiple Windows Users

  • Log in to each Windows user that has Medal installed. Right-click Medal and select Quit in the system tray. Can't find it?

  • Once finished, log back into your Windows user and try running Medal to see if the warning goes away.

 For stuck background processes
If you’re the only person using Medal, you may have some background processes that got stuck along the way.

  • First, completely quit Medal if you have it running by right-clicking Medal and select Quit in the system tray. Can't find it?
  • Now open up Task Manager and find any processes with the name Medal in them. Right-click them and End Task.

  • As soon as every Medal process is gone, you can start Medal again and see if the warning goes away. If it doesn’t, try the next solution.

Run Medal as Administrator

Go to your Desktop and find the Medal application. You will want to right-click and select Run as administrator

Medal doesn’t have access

Sometimes Medal can’t save files or access them due to Windows Defender or other antivirus software.

Once you have whitelisted Medal so that it is allowed to run normally, try restarting Medal and seeing if the warning goes away.
