TABLE OF CONTENTS
In our Early Access build, we’ve introduced a completely overhauled Medal video editor, replacing the old system with a newer and better editor built on modern technology! This upgrade delivers improved performance, greater flexibility, and the foundation for new editing features that weren’t possible before. Below are some frequently asked questions and a couple of settings you’ll want to configure to your preference since they can only be set during editor initialization.
Note: For the best editing experience, please adjust these settings to match your device’s capabilities.
Frequently Asked Questions
Question: How can I adjust the video canvas resolution?
Answer: We disabled changing it currently. It adjusts automatically based on the largest clip you open the editor with and will default to 1080p for now. If you create a new edit, the resolution cannot be determined
Question: Can I adjust the FPS? Bitrate?
Answer: This is currently defaulted and locked to 60 FPS and 20Mbps
Question: Do my edits from the previous editor work with it?
Answer: No! These are not compatible. We're working with a clean slate
Question: How can I add a meme template?
Answer: We don't currently have support for templates like the old editor
Question: Is there an audio SFX or music tab?
Answer: Not currently, but will be coming soon!
Question: Can I adjust individual audio tracks on a clip?
Answer: Not currently, but will be coming soon!
Question: I swapped back to Latest Stable, and these projects are showing as errors
Answer: That's fine. These are currently only compatible with Early Access. Switch back to Early Access and your projects should work normally.
Anti-Aliasing
While not a bug, you might see a diagonal line in the preview and rendered output section of the video project.
What can be done: Try turning off anti-aliasing in Under Medal's Settings > Video Editor or swapping to FXAA, depending on preference.
