Green Clips / Green Video Troubleshooting Guide
If you're noticing that all of your clips appear green, it’s likely a driver issue. Below are several steps that should help resolve this problem.
Delete Cache Data
To delete your cache data, you will need to open Developer Tools in your Medal app. Here are a couple of methods to do so:
From the System Tray
Navigate to your System Tray in the bottom right-hand corner and find the Medal app icon. Right-click on it and select Toggle Developer Tools.
Using the Medal App
You can also open Developer Tools by pressing Ctrl + Alt + i within the Medal app. This will open a new window on the right-hand side of the app.
Clear Site Data
Once the Developer Tools window is open, go to the Application tab. If you don’t see this, click on the >> icon next to Network. Then, select Clear Storage in the sidebar and click the Clear Site Data button. After clearing the data, restart the Medal app and try playing your video again.
Update Your Graphics Drivers
To update your Graphics Driver (GPU), open Device Manager in Windows. You can find it by typing Device Manager in the Windows search bar or by right-clicking on the Windows icon and selecting Device Manager.
In the Device Manager, locate Display Adapters and expand the dropdown. Right-click on your GPU and select Update Driver. Choose the option to Search automatically for drivers, and Windows will find and install the latest driver for your GPU. After the update, restart your PC.
Disable Hardware Acceleration
To disable UI Hardware Acceleration in the Medal app, navigate to Settings > System and toggle off UI Hardware Acceleration. Afterward, restart the Medal app.
Hardware Troubleshooting
To check if Windows detects any hardware issues, navigate to Windows Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter.
