Automatic Event Detection, or Auto Clipping, is Medal’s auto-capture system. With auto clipping enabled, you don't need to worry about pressing your clip hotkey to save that kill, Medal will capture it automatically. You can also set a custom clip length for auto-clipping clips! If you are using Full Session Recording, Medal will automatically create bookmarks instead of clips.
*Please note that this feature is only available on Windows. IOS and Android users are not able to use Automatic Event Detection/Auto Clipping.
Where can I find it?
You can locate the Auto Clipping settings in Settings > Auto Clipping.

How do I set it up?
Click on the game you want to have Medal auto-capture and enable it in the new Window. You can also enable/disable events inside the same panel!

What games are currently supported?
The current list is Rocket League, League of Legends, GTA V, Dota 2, Roblox, PUBG, Counter-Strike 2, Fortnite, War Thunder, EA Sport FC Online, Rematch, REPO, Runescape: Dragonwilds, YAPYAP, and Valorant (this list was updated in November 2025). See which events are supported in Settings > Auto Clipping or click here
Auto Clipping isn't working. What do I do?
First, check to make sure Auto Clipping is supported on your PC. You can learn more here.
If auto clipping is supported, try disabling any Streamer Mode in your game. This mode typically obfuscates some information that Medal uses to detect the in-game events.
Finally, if nothing else worked, please send us a ticket! Let us know which game you are playing, and which events are or aren't being triggered!
