Sometimes, NVIDIA GPUs can detect our Desktop App and Desktop Editor as if they were games. Because if that, they can get enhancements and filters added to it which may cause some issues like looking all blurry or having its video player (both editor and app) really slow down.
(Quick example of the app being all blurry because one of those filters)
Disabling UI Hardware Acceleration
You can try disabling Medal's UI Hardware acceleration under Settings > System > Advanced Settings. This should prevent the GPU from applying those enhancements without preventing the recorder from using your GPU to Clip!
You will need to restart the app to apply this setting.
Disabling NVIDIA's enhancements
You can remove those enhancements by manually adding an exception on NVIDIA's Control Panel:
- Open up the NVIDIA Control Panel and go to Manage 3D Settings.
- Select Program Settings and find Medal & MedalEncoder in the program list.
For both of these, we will want to change the following entries:
- Turn OFF Anti-aliasing (in case of Blurry app/editor)
- Turn OFF Background Application Max Frame Rate (in case of slow app/editor)
With that done, you can restart the app or your computer and it will load itself without those enhancements, solving the issue.
