Platform Support on Medal.tv

Modified on Wed, 14 May at 5:36 AM - By Washington Neto

We want to make sure our users have the best experience possible with our app! Here’s a breakdown of the platforms we currently support, as well as those that are not supported at this time.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Supported Platforms

Web

You can access Medal through most modern web browsers by visiting https://medal.tv. The web version is a lightweight experience, primarily intended for watching clips and managing your Profile.
However, functionality on the Website is quite limited. You will only have access to view your general feed and any Clips you have published. You will not be able to view unlisted clips, cloud-synced clips, or expiring clips.
Additionally, you cannot record or edit clips directly through the web interface.

Windows

Windows is our most fully featured platform. Users with a PC or laptop running Windows 10 or 11 can download the full Medal desktop app from our official website. The Windows app includes both our Social and Recorder functionality in one unified experience.
You'll be able to record gameplay, edit clips, share directly with your friends or community, and engage with the Medal feed, all within a single app.

Android

Android smartphones running Android 9 (Pie) or higher can download both the Social app and the Recorder app from the Google Play Store. The Social app lets users browse and interact with clips, manage their profile, and share content. The Recorder app allows for direct screen recording of your mobile gameplay.
Android offers the most complete mobile experience for Medal users.

iOS

Apple devices running iOS 14 or higher can download the Medal Social app from the App Store. While the Social app offers a smooth experience for watching and sharing clips, as well as interacting with the Medal community, there is currently no Recorder app available for iOS. This means iPhone users can only view, upload, and engage with clips, but cannot record gameplay or screen content through the Medal app itself on iOS.

Unsupported Platforms

Mac

Medal is not currently supported on macOS. This includes all versions of macOS, and there are no desktop or mobile apps available for Apple laptops or desktops. We understand there is interest in a macOS version, but at this time Mac users will need to use the web version with its limited functionality.

Linux

Medal is not officially supported on any Linux distribution. There are no native apps for Linux-based systems, and we do not currently offer official workarounds or support for running the Windows app via compatibility layers like Wine. Linux users can access the website with the same limited experience as noted above.

Chromebooks

Chromebooks and devices running Chrome OS are also not officially supported. While you are be able to access the Medal website via a browser on Chrome OS, there is no dedicated app available.
